How can we improve BindTuning?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Enhancements for people webpart

    It would be nice if the search in the webpart searched their entire profile from delve. So if someone searched for SharePoint, it would bring back people who have SharePoint in their ask me about section. Normal sharepoint people search works this way. It would also be nice to be able to filter it. Maybe only show people from a certain group or department. This way each department or group could have their own instance.

    Dear Zach,

    Thanks for submitting your suggestion. We have updated our People web part earlier this year and you may now search for groups and departments. Please make sure you access your My Account area to update your web parts to their latest available version to ensure this feature is available to you.

    As for your other request – searching for the “Ask me about” section in Delve – we have given proper consideration to this and at this moment we still haven’t found a strong business case to implement it. We will, however, keep the suggestion open to the community and commit to review it regularly, to get back to it at a later stage if required.

    Once again, we appreciate any comments you may have to add.

  2. Show the forecast in the weather web part like the weather tile

    It would be nice to show the forecast in the weather web part like it does in the weather tile. either 3 or 5 day forcast

    This feature already exists. When editing the Weather web part you can go to “Layout Settings” » “Forecast for the Week”. Let us know if you are not able to find it

  3. Upload image

    Upload an image/video to the BindTuning forms instead of going to the SharePoint List.

  4. Email Notifications for BindTuning Alerts

    Receive email notifications when you get an Alert on the Intranet. Right now the only way you get notified is with a pop up, only if you are on that specific page with the alert.

  5. Accordion Web Part

    Would love, love, love to have an accordion web part that our users can use without having to edit and insert code. That's just too hard for most of our users and they end up screwing it up.

    On our intranet, having an accordion feature for different offices that want to display an attractive FAQs list is one of the most requested features.

    I hope you'll consider adding it!

  6. List View selection in Quick Links Web Part

    We would like to use a single List of Links for various instances of the Quick Links Web Part but we don't want all instances to show the same set of items. It would be great to be able to configure each instance of the web part to select a distinct View from the List.

  7. Implement Paging in the News Web Part

    In the News Web part you can show at max 10 articles. What if there are more than 10 articles which are still important to show? It would fit for large companies with several departments creating lots of articles. Paging would be great help!

    The new BindTuning Documents Web Part available for SharePoint Online Modern  allows admins to customize colors for document icons and cards. See attached screenshot showing document icons customized differently per category type.

  10. Add Wistia as a Video Source to Video WebPart

    Currently, you have 3 Sources for your Video Webpart:
    Vimeo
    YouTube
    Video Portal(O365)

    It would be nice if you can add Wistia to your source list, or have a way to add other sources, IE: Azure

    The new BindTuning Documents version launched in 2023 for SharePoint Online Modern includes the ability to configure layouts to display the exact information required.

  12. Support News Web Part site collection sources On-Premises

    Cloud first-mobile first doesn't apply here! Therefore a lot of our customers are still using SP2013.

    Absolute Links aren't supported in the News Web Part...

  13. Ability to define target groups for News Web Part

    The News Web Part is a great way for companies to quickly push important information. It would be a great help to implement a feature for targeting the audience.

    If the board makes a decision, how can they provide the information to the other board members (different location) without using mails, groups, teams or yammer? A great deal of our customers use SP as a portal for everything (intranet, news, documents).

    Please implement it similiar to the filter and quicklinks Web Parts!

  14. Add interior SP pages to BindTuning.com live branding

    Would be great if you could include some native SP interior system pages on your BindTuning.com live branding site tool. I noticed that when we skinned our site, there are some color changes to the COREV15.css that I'd like to see before purchasing (e.g. in our case, Newsfeed web part is off).

  18. accented characters in Flash banner

    I need to put accented characters into the Flash banner. I have tried several methods with no sucess: as unicode directly, as windows characters, as ê , as html entities (ó ) with proper character set headers in the xml, but in all cases the characters are eaten out of the string.
    How can I do this? Can you modify the Flash to allow mulitilingual text strings?
