  1. Can the People Web Part allow configuration that would allow any profile attributes to displayed, including custom attributes.

For example, some companies have more than one contact number for users

  2. It would be awesome if the Documents webpart could show documents in expandable and collapsible groups like the out of the box library views can do.

The Documents Web Part launched in early 2023 for SharePoint Online - Modern includes the ability for end users to group documents by custom columns predefined by the admin. See attached screenshot with the "Group By" option highlighted. A new functionality, to have admins define default groups, is currently being evaluated for late 2023.

  3. We get a lot of feedback from users who don't realize you need to click the filters area to open and see the available filters. It would be awesome if we had the option to have it open by default or if the drop downs were more obvious and arranged like the ones in the filters webpart.

A new Documents Web Part for SharePoint Online Modern was released on March 2023. It includes powerful search, filter and sort capabilities, configured by the admin/site owner and made available to end users. Filters can now be displayed as buttons, just like with the Filters Web Part. Alternative displays include dropdowns or side panel. Check BindTuning's Product Change Log and update your web parts today: Web Parts Release - March 2023 – BindTuning Help Center

  4. When working with many files/folders in heavy collaboration often solutions require the full functionality of SharePoint Document handling such as the options in the ribbon or ellipse, etc. and additional screen real-estate by directly viewing a SharePoint document library. For these scenarios there would be value in being able to open a folder or document set in a new tab from the documents app. I believe there would be value to have an option to open folders and document sets in a new tab in the documents app part.

The new Documents Web Part, launched in March 2023 for SharePoint Online Modern, allows Admins or Site Owners to configure how/where documents open upon click. Under "Actions", the dropdown "Open Document" includes the option to open in Modal, New Tab or Direct Download. Update your web part today to start experimenting with these new features.

  5. The current date display on the News Web part is always expressed as a unit of distance from the date of the item, such as "2 hours ago" or "4 months ago".

Please add a configuration option (toggle) in the properties that allows the actual date of the item to be displayed, preferably with a definable string template (text box in property pane that appears when toggle is on) that is similar to Microsoft standards, such as "yyyy-mm-dd" for 2018-06-22.

BindTuning Admins are now able to configure BindTuning News to show “Date” in 3 different formats – Relative, Long or Short. Please update your web part to the latest available version, edit the web part and in its Settings Panel, click on Layout Options » Date Format

  6. The documents webpart really needs the ability to show and navigate folders as well as documents. Should be similar to the stock Microsoft document library webpart ...but better! with customized tool controls (eg. text or tabs)

A new SharePoint Online (Modern) version of the Documents web part has been launched on March 2022 that fixes known issues such as folder and file visibility, across folders & subfolder. You can access the change log with the release announcement at https://support.bindtuning.com/hc/en-us/articles/13581092381201-Web-Parts-Release-March-2023. The refactored Document Web Part also includes the capability to group documents by any chosen column.

  7. Currently, we are unable to use recurring events in the BT calendar web part. I spoke with your team several months ago and they are aware of the issue. We would like to be able to have birthdays, anniversaries, etc displayed without the need for someone to go in and change the date every year.

  10. The people webpart only displays a profile picture if the person has email in office 365. We have clients who are not using email in o365. Their pictures show up in Delve, but not in the people webpart.

    We have got news :)

Starting April 2019, we are now allowing 6 different ways of retrieving the People profile picture, including Delve.

Check it out in the picture below and make sure to update your web part to the latest available version.

  11. Receive email notifications when you get an Alert on the Intranet. Right now the only way you get notified is with a pop up, only if you are on that specific page with the alert.

  12. In the News Web part you can show at max 10 articles. What if there are more than 10 articles which are still important to show? It would fit for large companies with several departments creating lots of articles. Paging would be great help!

The new BindTuning Documents Web Part available for SharePoint Online Modern  allows admins to customize colors for document icons and cards. See attached screenshot showing document icons customized differently per category type.

  14. The News Web Part is a great way for companies to quickly push important information. It would be a great help to implement a feature for targeting the audience.

If the board makes a decision, how can they provide the information to the other board members (different location) without using mails, groups, teams or yammer? A great deal of our customers use SP as a portal for everything (intranet, news, documents).

Please implement it similiar to the filter and quicklinks Web Parts!

    Hello

We appreciate your suggestions to BindTuning UserVoice community. We are happy to share that your suggestion to add “Click-to-dial Phone numbers in People Web Part”.

This has been implemented on our January 2019 release – you may check the Product Change Log at https://support.bindtuning.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021891071-Web-Parts-Release-January-2019-Intermediate-2

Please download the latest web part version from your BindTuning account to have access to this feature.

We look forward to hearing more suggestions!

  16. The webpart doesn't allow it yet, but the list does. It would be great if the BindTuning Alerts webpart allowed for scheduling, this would be more dynamic and not a static list like it is now.

    Hello,

Thanks for your patience while we have been working on this feature.

This has now been developed and included in our February 2019 release. You may review our Product Change Log at https://support.bindtuning.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022644572-Web-Parts-Release-February-2019.

Please update your web part to the most recent version to make sure you have access to this and other features.

    Thank you for the suggestion.
We look forward to hearing from you.

    Francisca

  17. In the News Web part, if the title is too long we got 3 dots and we can't see all the title before clicking on it. It would be necessary to have the title go to the line automatically.

This functionality is now available under BindTuning Settings » Layout Options. You can toggle on the “Show News Full Title” option to display the full title and avoid the 3 dots.

The new BindTuning Documents Web Part for SharePoint Online Modern includes a capability to define Alerts using for specific documents, using SharePoint Alerts. Alerts can be configured with different delivery methods, for different change types and cadency. See attached screenshots

  20. It would be nice if the search in the webpart searched their entire profile from delve. So if someone searched for SharePoint, it would bring back people who have SharePoint in their ask me about section. Normal sharepoint people search works this way. It would also be nice to be able to filter it. Maybe only show people from a certain group or department. This way each department or group could have their own instance.

    Dear Zach,

Thanks for submitting your suggestion. We have updated our People web part earlier this year and you may now search for groups and departments. Please make sure you access your My Account area to update your web parts to their latest available version to ensure this feature is available to you.

As for your other request – searching for the “Ask me about” section in Delve – we have given proper consideration to this and at this moment we still haven’t found a strong business case to implement it. We will, however, keep the suggestion open to the community and commit to review it regularly, to get back to it at a later stage if required.

Once again, we appreciate any comments you may have to add.
