How can we improve BindTuning?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  2. Idea Management

    Similar to upvoty https://www.upvoty.com/ but in SharePoint - where user can add idea then a site page will be created on Site Pages. From there user can comment on an article/idea.

  3. Dynamic CAML filtering

    Currently, all web parts that use CAML for filtering require a static block of text for the query, with no way to change it at run time. This means that the filtering defined in the web part must be hard coded. This is highly inflexible -- what is needed is some way for the web parts to be sensitive to values passed into the page where the web part resides, via something like the URL query string.   4. Bindtuning.com live branding - build in image creation into tool

    Take for example the Response SP theme and the Response logo. Would be nice in the online tool to swap out that image for your own corporate logo and/or ability to change the color / transparency all within the tool (vs. doing it offline). The latter would be just the ability to custom load a picture there so you can see placement.

  5. All Web Parts

    On all the new web parts, we would love to see the ability to control Columns and Rows. We need to be able to remove columns not needed on things like documents web part. Would also like to control more columns on the list web part.

    Also Rows Pagination should be responsive like it use to be. If I choose 10 rows max but only have 3 rows filled it should push up the pagination numbers.

  6. Change the accessibility icon

    I think we should change or allow the option to change the icon for the accessibility icon. I believe another valid option would be the standard accessibility icon. (lower left corner: https://accessibilityspark.com/ten-reasons-you-should-get-the-web-accessibility-icon-on-your-website/)

    Hi Zach! Thanks for submitting your idea. We currently have no updates planned to the Accessibility Tool but I have added this as a feature request in our roadmap. Keep those good insights coming 💪🏻

  8. Support SharePoint usage statistics (most popular items) on BindTuning web parts.

    I've run into this issue with the News web part. I'm not sure if it's an issue with other BT web parts...

    When BT News list items are viewed via News web part, the views are not counted in the SharePoint list Most Popular Items feature. BT support has confirmed that the data is pulled via SharePoint services and that method doesn't affect the usage statistics.

  9. News Article - Show article in popup (attachments)

    When creating news article using SharePoint new item for list, you can add attachments to list items.

    Expected Behavior: If an attachment exisits on the News Article, the attachment should be shown on the show article in popup.

  10. Download multiple documents from Document webpart

    We want the users have a option to download multiple documents at a time. We are unable to find that option in the Document webpart settings in SharePoint 2019.
    It would be great to have such a feature in the Documents webpart just like we have the option to turn on the 'Upload' button.

    Multiple file download from the Documents Web Part is available for the SharePoint Online - Modern version of the Web Part (see attached screenshot). We do not currently have plans to work on the SP 2019 web parts but will revisit this requirement when we do. 

  11. Add an offset to News and Slider webpart

    Add an article offset to the news and slider web part. This would allow multiple news web parts to show the news articles.

    You could show the latest 3 news items in a larger layout or slider, and the remaining news with a more compact style.

  13. Multilingual feature for French in Webparts to work with SPO settings for multilingualism

    The two working languages of our organization is English and French. We have translated our site content in to French and would like to use the multilingual features for SPO on the site which heavily uses tiles and the accordion webparts. This is critical for our operation within the next few months.

  14. Document Web Part - configurable rows, compact list view w/smaller icons or no icons

    Please bring back the features you removed from the previous version. While new and improved options are always welcomed removing older features do not help us in our environment. Need to be able to configure number of rows and need to have a compact list view with small icons. Or the ability to remove doc type for the icons.

    I would like to see a webpart for an alerts scrolling ticker where I could create my own messages and then add the part to a page to help with important or breaking news items (weather closure, service outages, etc.).

  16. Miniature calendar display for Events Calendar

    Please add a calendar view for the events calendar with the ability to display events for the month with custom colors. We want to display the entire month in a mini calendar (we don't want it to look like an Outlook or SharePoint calendar). Here are some examples for a better look and feel.

  17. Hide File Extensions in Documents Webpart

    Add a "Hide File Extensions" checkbox to the Documents Webpart settings so I can hide .pdf, .docx, .pptx, etc. from my document names. In most layouts the file extension is already shown as an icon. Thank you.

  18. Accordion - Item limit/Pagination

    It would be nice to have pagination available on the accordion webpart so that we could limit it to 10 or so and then page to see more. Would help keep page layouts in a predictable size.

  20. Could you add arrows in smart tiles?

    We use smart tiles for news and it would be great if we could go back to the previous news.

    We can not use the slider WebPart because the news tile is in the middle of other tiles.
